Karen graduated Magna Cum Laude from Grove City College in 1978 with a Bachelor's Degree in both Accounting and Business Administration.  Throughout her public accounting career she has had the privelege of working in multiple environments ranging from a "Big 8" firm to her own practice, which she maintained for 10 years.

She is a Finance and Board member of Community Resources for Independence and is a volunteer Good Sense Financial Counselor.

Karen takes pleasure in educating professional staff.  She chairs the firm's in-house training task force.
 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


Accreditation and Specialization 

Karen specializes in auditing Pension and Welfare Benefit Plans, personal financial planning, Small Business and Individual Tax Planning and Estate and Succession Planning. She is the Chairperson of the Firm's Pension and Welfare Plan Services Group.

She is a member of the American and Pennsylvania Institutes of Certified Public Accountants and is a committee member of the AICPA 2006 Employee Benefits Conference.  She is also a member of the Employee Benefit Plans Task Force of PKF/NAN, an international association of accounting firms.  She is on the PICPA Speakers Bureau and the Working Together Committee (IRS, PA Dept of Revenue and practitioners), and is a frequent presenter at their events.
She has been an instructor for the 2002 & 2003 Penn State Tax Institute and the 2004 and 2005 Pennsylvania Tax Institute. She will be presenting at the AICPA 2006 Employee Benefits Conference and the PKF/NAN "Big Event."
