Scott A. Herzing
Each year the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) recognizes individuals under forty who demonstrate a commitment and passion toward the accounting profession. One of the 2019 Young Leader Award recipients was Scott A. Herzing, CPA. Scott is a supervisor at McGill, Power, Bell & Associates (MPB) in Erie and serves on the PICPA Erie Chapter Executive Committee. He lives in Millcreek with his wife, Julia, and his two children, Christian (6) and Genevieve (3).
At MPB, Scott specializes in corporate and individual taxation with a focus on the manufacturing sector. He is a key member of the firm’s Research and Experimentation (R&E) Tax Credit team. The R&E Tax Credit provides tax relief to companies who take risks through creating new or improved products or processes. A considerable amount of Scott’s time is spent working with clients in documenting and calculating tax benefits related to the credit.
